SCCA Time Attack Challenge Registration Opens for the End-of-Year Showdown at Buttonwillow

The Tire Rack SCCA® Time Attack Challenge at Buttonwillow Raceway, taking place Nov. 14-15, 2026, at the renowned track located a couple of hours north of Los Angeles, is shaping up to be one for the history books. Not only will drivers and fans converge for some of the most exciting SCCA Time Attack competition in the country and a return of SCCA Time Attack to Buttonwillow for the first time since 2022, but the competition takes on even greater significance thanks to the presence of Global Time Attack.

Whether you’re interested in pushing your personal best or seeing where you line up against near-pros with GTA, this mid-November bash (which is also the final SCCA Time Attack Challenge weekend of the season) is where you need to be.

The Track

Another hook for this year? Buttonwillow’s 13CW layout. The king of Time Attack circuits for more than 20 years, this one sets the benchmark in North America. The configuration rewards the bold and the skilled with a mix of high-speed sweepers, technical corners, and striking elevation changes. Signature features like Phil Hill (a blind, cresting corner that demands courage and commitment) and Riverside that leads into it (a superfast sweeping right-hander) are legendary for pushing drivers and cars to their limit – and beyond.

The rapid transitions and hard braking zones mean that there’s always room to improve, making every lap a thrilling pursuit of perfection.

As evidence, we present this video taken from within Khoa Chao’s Tuner 4 Honda S2000 the last time SCCA’s Time Attack series took to the track:

A True Can’t-miss Event

Shared with the 2026 Global Time Attack Finals – a weekend that has its roots in the (temporarily paused) Super Lap Battle – means you’ll get the chance to cross streams with the best of the best, including likely some factory-based efforts.

The cool November air means the track will be primed for personal bests and lap records. And if you decide to leave the track at some point…who are we kidding? From food to fuel to camping, Buttonwillow offers everything you need whether you’re competing or chilling in the paddock.

It’s also important to remember the spirit of the SCCA Time Attack Challenge. Though we’ve talked a lot about comparing times with the best of the best, the real person you’re up against is yourself. Don’t be afraid to make this your second, third, or even first SCCA Time Attack event of the year – novices are always welcome! From the seasoned pro to someone’s first time, there’s a run group for you, and coaches will be on hand to ensure everyone has a good time.

Register Now

Space will be limited, with only three SCCA Time Attack Challenge run groups and a total of 60 spots available. You’ll want to reserve your place early, but the good news is that anyone who registers before Aug. 28 will save $100 – making that decision easy!
