More Daytime Track Nights at GingerMan

When SCCA takes over a track, we like to squeeze every ounce of fun from it. That’s why two Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack events have been added to the weekend schedule. One track event will take place Saturday, July 16, and the other on Sunday, July 17. On both days, participants are scheduled for three sessions out on course.

Track Night in America – but midday at GingerMan – is a non-competitive, easy, and inexpensive way for anyone to get on a racecourse in their own vehicle. You can learn more at TrackNightInAmerica.com. It’s a cool opportunity to play around on track, then watch the TTNT program and interact with others who share a passion for cars and driving.

Wheeling Around GingerMan

Established in 1995 and resurfaced in 2015, GingerMan Raceway’s 2.14-mile, 11-turn course simulates a country road while maximizing driver and vehicle safety, making it what some consider to be one of the safest tracks in the nation. What results is a circuit perfectly suited for both the novice driver learning the ropes and the advanced driver who is pushing the threshold.

A full range of driving situations can be experienced at GingerMan. There are short sprints and high-speed straights, tight apexes and sweeping corners, light and heavy braking, and some lively elevation change as the circuit curls through rolling landscape.

Check out the in-car video below for a better idea of what GingerMan has to offer.

Breaking Records at GingerMan

In each of the last three years, GingerMan Raceway has been on the TTNT schedule. So, we’ve certainly got some lap times to look at and keep track of during this year’s event. Below are a few notable previous lap times to monitor.

Unlimited 1: Grant Walker, 1:31.545 (1995 Mazda Miata)
Max 1: Shilun Wu, 1:36.146 (2012 Ford Mustang)
Sport 2: Michael Kubiak, 1:39.788 (2003 Chevrolet Corvette)
Tuner 2: Jacob Besemer, 1:38.413 (2017 Chevrolet Camaro)

The Weekend Rundown

This two-day TTNT visit opens on Saturday morning with practice sessions for all three run groups, followed by TrackAttack sessions in the afternoon. Saturday then concludes with the shouldn’t-be-missed Hagerty Social Dinner Party, which is open to all participants.

Sunday brings SCCA’s special TrackSprint feature, followed by more TrackAttack sessions after lunch. The event then comes to an end on Saturday afternoon with the KONI Podium Celebration.

Even if you can’t join us at the track, PA announcer Gregg Ginsberg will bring you all of the excitement live at timetrials.scca.com.
