SCCA Time Trials

As states and venues begin early phases of reopening across the country, everyone is starting to get a better idea of what SCCA events are likely to happen and where questions remain.

For the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour, organizers are now expecting to hold as many as eight of the originally scheduled 10 events. The events that have been cancelled are the March date at Auto Club Speedway in southern California and the August date at Nelson Ledges Road Course in Ohio. Below is the status of the remaining events.

May 22–24 @ Carolina Motorsports Park, SC

Plans are being made to hold this event within the SCCA COVID-19 Event Guidelines. Currently there are 80 drivers signed up, with room for 40-50 more. The event will feature a Saturday night “socially distance dinner,” presented by our friends at Hagerty and we expect that camping will be allowed.

June 5–7 @ Eagles Canyon Raceway, TX

Texas's next round of reopening is scheduled for May 18. Provided that goes as anticipated and scheduled, we are a go for this event, within guidelines. Details will be available here on www.timetrails.scca.com after the May 18 announcement.

June 12–14 @ The Ridge Motorsports Park, WA

This is a shared date with Global Time Attack (GTA). The track is planning to reopen June 1 and we have confirmed with GTA, so we are a go for this event.

July 4–6 @ Thompson Raceway Park, CT

At this time, Connecticut has significant restrictions in place making it difficult to foresee with certainty. If we can hold the event, we will, but it is unlikely that we will be able to confirm until early June.

July 17–19 @ GingerMan Raceway, MI

Based on what we are seeing from Michigan at this time, we believe this event will be allowed by local mandates. If so, this event will take place as scheduled.

August 27–30 @ New Jersey Motorsports Park, NJ

This is also a shared event with GTA, and we do not see any challenges for this date at this time.

September 24–27 @ NCM Motorsports Park, KY for Time Trials Nationals

September 24-27: We are all systems go for TTN. The event will include a full Thursday test/practice/classroom day. Details will be posted here on www.timetrials.scca.com in June.

Date TBD @ Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta

We are targeting a reschedule of the May date at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta sometime after TTN, but before Thanksgiving. Stay tuned for that announcement!
